National Camp-In

Whether in your backyard or in your living room, join families across the country live on Facebook for a day of fun virtual adventures.

From camp-style cooking and friendly competitions, to special guests and campfire singalongs, this virtual event will bring the best parts of Scouting to life!

This National Camp-In is free and open to all families – including families whose children are not currently in Scouting.

Congratulations Tara from CIEC Crew 5330 Wester Region Area 4's new Venturing President

Last week a panel of Venturers from across Area 4 met to select the 2020-2021 WR Area 4 VOA President.

We are excited to announce the selection of Tara Izadi to lead the Western Region Area 4 Venturing Officers' Association! Tara will begin her term on June 1st, 2020.

Tara is from Crew 5330 in the California Inland Empire Council and has been active in Venturing since she completed eighth grade in 2016. Tara is a recipient of the Summit Award and will be completing her Eagle Scout rank before she heads off to UCLA in the fall.

She has most recently served as the California Inland Empire Council's VOA President. Tara is actively involved in training courses, has served as the Senior Patrol Leader for two National Youth Leadership Training courses, and has staffed Wood Badge as the Youth Venturing President four times. On top of Venturing, Tara has also been involved in school activities such as Mock Trial, AFJROTC, and HOSA Future Health Professionals, and has held high ranking positions in each of these organizations. Tara is an active volunteer at a local hospital and enjoys spending her time helping those in need.

Tara is goal-oriented, hard-working, and dedicated to everything she works on. Tara looks forward to interacting with council VOAs, planning area events, and supporting all of Area 4's Venturers

We Care High Desert District

Because we are Scouts, we are always ready to take on new Community Service projects that will help benefit our community and its people.

Our 'We Care' Program is starting a new project of having our Scouts make cards for seniors that are in convalescent homes and/or hospitals where they are alone and cant have visitors. I NEED YOUR HELP!

Please have your Scout(s) make a total of 5 (or more) cards each from regular paper, construction paper, colored paper, etc. Have them write an encouraging message, draw pictures....anything that is uplifting and will bring cheer to a senior that needs it most during this trying time.

When cards are completed, they can be sent to me directly or a pickup can be arranged. All cards collected will be distributed to the hospitals and senior homes. Please make this a priority so we can get the cards out there to those in need...

All Scouts that participate in this special project will receive a patch from me directly to show my appreciation for their dedication to help others.

Scouts and Scout families, currently Scouting is as relevant as ever.

Our Packs and Troops are providing all kinds of opportunities for youth to socialize and participate in virtual and online Scouting related activities.

We must continue to be prepared so that when we resume in person Scouting activities we can continue to provide this amazing program to all the youth of our community.

This is the time to ask your friends and family to join you in Scouting, and when these times are over they will be ready to join all of us, and celebrate the many outdoor experiences Scouting has to offer!
