Metalworking - E-Team
No camp anywhere provides such a complete and innovative metalworking program, but you can only participate by being part of Camp Emerson's E-Team!
E-Team participants have the opportunity to advance their skills in metalworking and can earn the metalworking merit badge. At Camp Emerson, we have a fully operational forge where participants get to pound on the anvil while they make knives out of railroad ties, keychains out of intake manifolds, and numerous other creations.
In addition, Scouts will also be able to cast a belt buckle out of aluminum at the E-Team foundry. The casting process, a recent addition to E-Team, will allow Scouts to make their own designs and cast them or use one of E-Team's molds.
Another great opportunity is jewelry-making, where Scouts can make bracelets or rings out of copper wire, polish them, even coat them in a silvering solution.
The tin can project, essential for the metalworking merit badge, is easy to produce at E-Team and takes no more than half an hour with the many tools provided. | |
