Philmont Scout Ranch
Philmont Scout Ranch, the Boy Scouts of America's premier high-adventure base, challenges Scouts and Venturers with more than 200 square miles of rugged New Mexico wilderness. Backpacking treks, horseback cavalcades, and training and service programs offer young people many ways to experience this legendary country.

Northern Tier National High Adventure Bases
From June to September, Northern Tier offers Scouts and Venturers the best in wilderness canoeing treks. Beginning in December, you may participate in the challenging cold-weather camping program called Okpik (OOk' pick). The Northern Tier offers many adventures, each geared to the goals and desires of your group. Come to the Northern Tier for an unforgettable experience in the world famous northwoods Canoe Country.

Florida National High Adventure Sea Base
BSA's Florida National High Adventure Sea Base offers unique educational aquatic programs. Located in Islamorada, the heart of the Florida Keys, the near shore reefs offer unparalleled opportunities for long term and short term programs year round. Our new Conference facilities are used for youth and adult Scouting Conferences and non-Scouting groups when available. Write or call for specific program information and costs.

We are here to provide Scout leaders the best possible training, so they will confidently lead Scouts into the outdoors. This is high adventure, the challenge that builds friendships and personal character.
And what is High Adventure? It is the WOW of challenge, mystery and discovery that keeps the boys asking for more. It's there for every age group.
Completing the LOST, Map and Compass and Basic Backpacking courses makes you High-Adventure qualified, thus making your unit eligible for the many high-adventure awards available in Southern California. Many of the courses are held in the handiest classroom site in Riverside, Wanakik Chapter House, First United Methodist Church, 4845 Brockton Ave. Chapter house is in back of the church.
