Founded in 1956 in the UK by Her Majesty the Queen’s husband, HRH The Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, the international Award boasts operations in 144 countries around the world and is now entering its fourth year of operations in the United States.

Since 2007, the US Award has grown to over 30 states and enjoys thousands of participants annually. The US Award continually strives to expand its operations in efforts to positively influence the lives of America’s youth. Over 8 million people have received the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award since its inception.  The Award’s fundamental philosophy and Four Tenant operational format have proved resilient, attractive, and adaptable, and it remains as relevant today as ever before. Last year, more than 140,000 participants from around the world earned a Bronze, Silver, or Gold DofE Award.

Vision
“I’m a big dreamer, and when I think about the future of the Award could go, I think that in five years I’d like to know that we are in at least 25 states, and I’d like to think in 10 years we will be in all 50 states of this great country of ours.” – Sam Haskell, President
