Popcorn Message

Does your Pack, Troop, or Crew have all the financial resources needed to pay for an entire year of Scouting?

If your Pack, Troop, or Crew had an additional $3,000… Would you use it for registration fees? Maybe summer camp or Awards and Recognition for your Scouts! How about to replace worn out camping gear or even that new Pinewood Derby Track.

Now is the time to act and participate with our annual popcorn fundraiser. We can teach you how and provide resources and/or personal support to raise the all the funds needed to support a full year of Scouting.

DID YOU KNOW?

  • You do not have to sell in front of stores? Although this has been proven to be the most effective and quickest way to reach your financial goal.
  • There is a take order form? (I’ve attached a copy of this form to this email) Scouts get friends, neighbors, family members, parent or guardian coworkers, etc. to place an order. Using this method, the customer is more likely to order more.
  • Scouts can sell popcorn online? Use your social media platform and reach friends, old neighbors, family members, etc. wherever they live! Units that participate with online sales notice that an average online sale is $30 per customer.
  • You can do all three options? Or you can pick two? Or even one?

Let us help you raise all the funds you will need with only ONE fundraiser. Visit www.ciecpopcorn.org to find more information. You can also email CIECpopcorn@scouting.org with any questions or to let us know why your unit doesn’t want to sell popcorn.

NYLT Unit Leader Lunch

Scoutmasters and Crew Advisors,

NYLT (National Youth Leadership Training) is a National course that develops Scouts’ leadership skills.  What does this mean to you, the unit leader?  Confidence in the leadership capabilities of your current and future youth leadership.  As a Scout-led program, adult leaders should be “in the background the” while Scouts conduct the meetings and activities. Knowing that youth leadership have been given the tools to successfully lead your troop, crew, or ship; once they are trained at NYLT, you can fully realize the vision of Scouting.

We are inviting you, your peers in adult leadership, and your Committee Chair to attend the Week 2 graduation on July 31st at 3:30 pm. We hope that you will visit in order to personally see what NYLT can do for your unit at home. Prior to NYLT graduation, you are invited to have lunch with us at 1:00 pm.  Chef Wes Patterson of Camp Cookery has planned a nice menu and we look forward to seeing you at Camp Emerson!

Please R.S.V.P NYLT Unit Leader Lunch, so that we can have an accurate headcount of guests we will be serving.
